Asus Transformer Book

The answer to all our Windows 8 dreams: The Ivy Bridge Asus Transformer Book | ExtremeTech
With discrete graphics turned off (running on Ivy Bridge’s integrated GPU), we’re still only talking about
2 hours — but hey, that’s enough for the commute, or a short flight.

I hope the battery life is similar to that of the tablets, because without it, its a deal breaker for me im afraid
-
I'm sorry but I don't trust the analyst that says "2 hours battery life". He doesn't know what he's talking about and he isn't analyzing correctly.
The Acer Iconia which has an Ivy Bridge ULV CPU has a stated battery life of 18 hours docked (8 undocked).
I would assume the Core i7 in the Transformer Book to also be ULV and be able to offer equivalent battery life.

It is my understanding that both the dock and the screen have batteries. Two hours is not a true. Atleast 8 hours
B60 TF101 16gb WW version. Never rooted.

WOWWWWWWWW I'm so impressed with the BOOK!
I was thinking to wait and buy a Tegra 4 Transformer when it gets out (ending of 2012) but I did not expect this!
A 11.6" I3/5/7 Windows 8 Transformer?? who would've thought!!

doubt the tegra 4 is gonna be released for a while, I think it would just be an upgrade like what the T33 is in the Infinity, there may be a T3.5 bringing it to 2GHz or something, but Tegra 4 won't be for a while, as this would have been somewhere it was announced, and many devices use tegra 3 now, they dont want to disown all these people completely
EDIT: According to google, there roadmap thingy says Q1 2013
-
according to wikipedia:
To be released in Q1 2013, flagship "T40"
so somewhere at the start of 2013, my tf101 will hold untill then

Do we have an real specs on the Transformer Book yet? Also, any idea whether it will be able to run everything that normally runs on Windows?
I have the TF300, but am looking for something to run my Windows-only programs, and this looks like it.

There are 2 transformer books, the cheaper one probably wont run everything as that will run a Tegra 3 which is an ARM processor, the more expensive one however ($1000+ I imagine) will have an i5 and therefore should run desktop programs

Really? Ok, I was confused. I thought there was supposed to be (and I apologize ahead of time if I am not remembering the names correctly) a Transformer 600 (ARM, Windows RT), a Transformer 810 (Windows 8), and then the Transformer Book. Or do you mean the 810 is the cheaper Book?
