[SOLVED] Connect button grayed out when entering password for wifi

Hi, hoping someone can help a frustrated newbie!

I've just purchased the TF201 tablet with dock and having trouble connecting to any wifi requiring password.

As per attached screenshot, the wifi signal is getting picked up but when trying to enter the password, the Connect button is grayed out, so unable to connect to wifi.

Same situation when using my mobile as portable hotspot, but when I set it to not need authentication it worked fine, connected immediately.

Have tried doing a factory reset on the tablet, no change.

Hoping it's a simple fix so I can avoid taking in for repair/replacement!

    Thanks,
    Peter

WPA and WPA2 should have a minimum 8 character pass phrase. Looks like you are using 7. I bet if you add one more character the button will allow you to connect.

Most routers do not allow shorter than 8 characters, but there may be some that do.

Try changing to a longer pass phrase if that is the case.

Make sure you're entering in the correct password. Once it's at the right length, as Frederuco said, you will be able to hit "connect".

Successfully connected now and happily typing away on my primo pad.

    Cheers,

And make sure to use the English keyboard for entering the password.
Don't repeat my mistake using Persian keyboard. This point cost me hours.
    may the designers notice?
