    Strange Icon In Clock Bar

I wasn't sure if this was an app or something, but on a daily basis the icon below appears next to my clock.

It is always advertising some kind of "great new app" or something about casinos.

I'm wondering if it's an app that I have installed, but I am not sure.

Can anyone tell me what this is?

I've been googling but it's difficult with such vague search terms.

In the meantime I'll be googling some more.

    Strange Icon In Clock Bar

It is from some app you installed. I would guess either a wallpaper app or a battery saver.

I would uninstall any apps you do not use regularly and see if it goes away.

Hard to tell from your pic, but is the icon the same as this?

    Yes, that's it. Airpush apparently.

    Time to app-hunt!

P.S. I'm sorry about the size of the picture, I didn't realize...in the days of people having terabyte drives in their laptops...a website wouldn't resize a picture to such a small size.

    Hi,

If you check the malware FAQ in my signature, you will find there is a section all about this sort of "adware" & how to track down which app is sending ads to your notification area.

Then, when you have found it, you can give it the elbow...

PLEASE Search for existing threads before posting a new one. Thanks.

It is a Push Notification. One of the apps that you have installed is allowing them. Install "Addons Detector" from the Play Store. Run the app and wait for the Scan button to change to red, then press the scan button and let it scan your apps, then press the green Addons button and then change the filter to "Push Notifications" (at the bottom of the list) to see what app is allowing the Push Notifications. In my case I would uninstall the app.
