    auto-rotate gone after root

Long story short - I had the screen replaced on my TF201, but it turns out the company that replaced it ordered the wrong digitizer (my assumption after reading the forums, the issue was the reversed x axis). So they rooted the tablet, which they thought fixed the issue. The only issue still lingering that I've found, so far, is that the screen will not auto-rotate. Not only that, but when I go to settings>display, the option for auto-rotate is not even there.

I do not know anything about rooting devices, so my question is: does anyone know, did they royally screw something up with the root? Are there other things likely missing somehow? I just don't even know how to proceed from here; I am guessing once you root a device there's no going back. My concern is that other things, way above my head, could be messed up and I don't know it.

Since I'm not a tech expert, I am just looking for any help anyone can give me as to what I should tell this company when I take my tablet back to them again. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations when I handed my pad over to them to get the screen replaced, but I thought I'd get it back at least working the same as when I gave it to them.

    Thank you all!

Go to settings>about tablet and give us the build number.

You do have a factory build number so you should be able to unroot just fine. I would wager that they probably messed with some system files though. is there a menu entry under settings>display for rotation That may be there even if the auto rotate option is not there, you may be able to set auto-rotation that way.

No menu entry for rotation. I did find a menu entry under accessibility of all places...seems to rotate the screen just fine.

If I unroot, will I most likely see the x axis issue again, correct?

    Thanks for the help.

I would guess you would. I'm not sure what to tell you other than hold tight and hope somebody that knows about this stuff sees it. I don't know a lot about the TF201
