Kindle app duplicated all my e-books??

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any helpful advice for me. I have a number of e-books on my kindle app for my Prime, however recently I noticed that the Kindle duplicated a number of my e-books, so now I have two versions of Lord of the Rings etc, if I save a page in one version, its saved in the other and if I delete one, it will delete the other. Does anyone know what caused this or how to fix it?

    Thanks,

Sounds odd... But anyway, here is what I would do...

Go to settings, apps, all - find Amazon Kindle - clear cache, clear data, force close
Do a cold boot (link in signature)
Then when you tap the Kindle app it will take you through the sign in process again & you can then download the necessary books that you want to your tf201 again.

You may find the e-reading FAQ linked from my signature to be of interest.

Thanks for the advice! I should have mentioned in the first post that it only duplicated ebooks that I had manually put on the kindle app, the ebooks that I've downloaded from Amazon haven't been duplicated. If I had clear the data, will that remove those books that I put on manually?

Yes it will. The e-reading FAQ outlines the correct location of where to put books in the Kindle app - but that may have changed under Jelly Bean - I cannot suggest anything further, I'm sorry to say...

I have several kindles, and kindle apps. I found it easier in the long run to store everything in my own cloud space. If you google "Kindle DRM Removal", you can using your own kindle key, remove your own drm so that you can store all your books together, in an order that YOU, and not amazon decides is right.. I don't think this is any worse than say ripping a CD to MP3, or a DVD to divx. I'm definitely not advocating sharing your own media with other people, that would be wrong.
