JB update failing / Android "falls over" with "!"

Firstly, my TF201 is unlocked with the Asus unlocking tool and cannot be reversed, I understand. (Decided not to go ahead with a custom ROM)
I managed to update to JB by downloading to a micro SD card and the update went flawlessly.
However with the latest update, it just doesn't happen. I cols-boot and choose RCK. Screen goes to the Andoid and after about 10secs he falls over with an exclamation mark.
After a further 1min device reverts to normal boot.
I tried wiping all data but with same result.
Can anyone help as I am at a lost. Otherwise I will just have to stick with the original version of JB and re-install all my apps again.

Did you unzip the firmware from Asus once? It needs to be unzipped (it will still be a .zip file) and also it needs to be on a microSD formatted for FAT32 (exFAT and NTFS will not work with RCK).

Frederuco, Many thanks for your reply.
I really thought that would solve the problem, as I didn't unzip to the next level.
But unfortunately it did not work, same result. I even tried the further unzip but that didn't work either.
I also downloaded the update file again in case one was corrupt, but no joy.

PS: I should add that my current version is - JRO03C.WW_epad-10.4.2.1520120917

Try renaming the unzipped (but still zipped) file to epad_update.zip

    Frederuco, No joy, same result.
Would it be worth trying to go back to a much earlier version and trying to update from there? just a thought.

Stock recovery does not allow you to roll back versions.

Did you check that your microSD is formatted for FAT32?

Also, go to Settings - Apps - All - CMClient - Clear Data. Repeat for DMClient. Then go to Settings - About - Check for update then look at the notifications (tap the clock) and see if there is an update notification.

The other option we have is to install TWRP or CWM via fastboot and then you can flash the version from that. It will put you back to stock, but you can also flash SuperSU before you exit the custom recovery and you will be stock rooted with stock recovery.

Hi Frederuce, thanks for the advice. Cleared CM and DM client, but same result.
The option you suggested seems way out of my league to do, without an ABC guide (I'm a dummy when it comes to Android)
Unless I can find a simple "How to", I'll have to leave it as it is.

LATEST!! Out of the blue it just notified me of Update Detected and has started installing !! Will post results when its finished (if it does)

System Update Success!!!!! Don't know how it happened, but it did. Thanks for your help Frederuco
