    [ SOLVED ]DMClient has stopped

    My new TF201 display the comment " Unfortunately, DMClient has stopped". What does this mean and how do I get DMClient to work again? I notice that I can't refresh my weather display in homepage. Is this part of the problem? Can someone help? Thanks

    Welcome to the forum

    It's nothing to worry about - just reboot your tf201 & the message should go away.
    If not, it will just need a cold boot - see the link in my signature on how to do that.

    DM client is to do with downloading firmware updates, so is unlikely to have any effect on the weather widget. I expect the tf201 is having problems seeing the satellites - as you know the GPS on the Prime is very, very weak & GPS needs a view of the sky to work well. You should find that turning on wifi location as well may help, but the essential problem will be with the poor GPS reception (which is an extremely well known & Asus acknowledged, fundamental design flaw on the tf201)

    Thanks Janner43 for your help but I'm lost. " Unfortunately, DMClient has stopped" still appear after rebooting. What is cold boot? I need your step by step guide.
    As for weather widget, I got it working after I ticked box allowing Google to collect data.

    This is a great answer BUT it doesn't work for me. I have the error message that DMCLIENT has stopped and was relieved to find this thread. I connected the Docking KB and followed the instructions to complete a cold boot. The sequence was exactly as it said it would be but after completion I continue to get the message "DMCLIENT has stopped".
    Very grateful if anyone could tell me which way to go now. I have tried this process 4 times and with the same result. So the remedy may work for some but not for me. :-(

    Try this -- Go to settings>apps>all -- scroll to DmClient -- click on it --- clear cache, clear data, force stop. Reboot your tablet.

    Report back on whether that has fixed the problem.
