tf 201 micro hdmi to vga sound problem

    hi,
i have a old projector in my school which have only vga output....
so bought a asus micro hdmi to vga adapter for my asus tf 201 tablet...
it works fine except no audio....

in the user manuel it says something like "when it's connected your device audio function will be off"
is there a way i can get video with projector, audio with tablet itself or external speaker etc...

i know hdmi carries both video and audio, vga carries only video....
but when it comes to android there is no limit...

so there is way of doing this?...
    thanx...

by the way my tf 201 is not rooted....

    Welcome to the forum

You've answered your own question really...
i know hdmi carries both video and audio, vga carries only video....
But you might try a 3.5mm jack to twin phono cable then use that & the HDMI to VGA at the same time

    thanx for your welcome....
english isn't my native language so i'm not quite sure what you are saying?...

first i plug the twin phono cable to tablet's 3.5mm jack port...
then i connect to phono cable to external speaker...
then i connect micro hdmi to vga adapter to the projector...

    is it correct?...
