Talking Back camera green screen/disconnected camera error [fix it yourself]

So like a few people I have seen that have this same problem where the back camera, after a while (for me about 4 months) will stop working and show up with green static or sometimes a "Camera is not connected" error and then close.

I have seen/heard that most people send it back and get it repaired (how is that? is it hard? frustrating?) but I'm not that keen to wait the 2 weeks to get it back because I use it alot!

So I was wondering if there is a way to take off the back and perhaps fix it yourself?(I always thought it was just a loose connector)

Would this void my warranty and possible chances of it getting fixed legitimately and is it even possible? a video would be awesome!

    Cheers,

that sucks, i couldn't find anything on how to self fix it and I ended up sending it away for warranty.

It was easy you just call up say whats happening and they will have someone come and pick it up and everything.

so long story short, got warranty, got it repaired and the camera works fine now.

I'm pretty sure he said that he replaced the camera, but yeah I don't really have much in the way of helping you self-repair it sorry.

You could try opening the back and having a look if you don't have warranty anyway.. but just be careful you know

mary.7 -- As you can see, kitt sent in the tablet and had it repaired. You should try the suggestions in your thread and report back whether they worked or not. If they don't, perhaps it's time to send your Transformer in for repair.

TF201 Camera gone bung, no image just flashing digital multicoloured screen?

And -- just a reminder - duplicate threads and posts about the same topic are against forum guidelines.

Asus has an warranty worldwide. Contact Asus and arrange an RMA (repair). It is a one year warranty from date of purchase. You should be able to request an RMA through this site:

If your warranty has expired, you might be able to send them a question via the technical help link on this page, or ask about out-of-warranty repairs.

    Good luck.

I've moved your "QB light" comment from here to that thread. Thank you.
