    Post WinXP SP2 connection

I read in many places here on TFF and other blogs/techhelp that many people have problems connecting successfully to the PC via USB cable that comes with the TF201......

It would seem to me that this issue should be in the FAQ, the MASTER HELP, or right here......

I realize that there are many problems that arise that a single document many not be able to cover all and specifically the FUBAR types of problems that arise from time to time...

I consider myself (and so do my coworkers and friends) to be a rather advanced Windows PC user.... and resolve many problems
    that occur...

Is there a STEP-BY-STEP guide to installing and configuring both the WINXP PC and the TF201?

My apologies if the STEP-BY-STEP guide is right in front of me on TFF and I missed, but would some one please point me in the right direction?

    Have a Great Day!

There is no one size fits all solution which is why it's difficult to find any fix. My experience has been that the reason must have something to do with the configuration of the PC, firewall, anti virus, driver conflicts (possibly caused by other peripherals). I have lost count of the number of PCs I've plugged my TF201 into with no problems at all and every one of my customers with Transformers have had equal success with theirs.

With that said, some people have been able to get it to work by installing the PC Suite, or turning on USB debugging in the Developer options and some people haven't been able to get it to work at all.

Since you have 3 systems exhibiting the same problem I would look for a program or peripheral that may have all three systems in common. That would be a start.

    Re: WinXP SP2 connection

What type of connection are you referring to?

    USB?
    SAMBA (WiFi File Sharing)?
    FTP?
    DLNA (Streaming Media)?
    OBEX (Bluetooth)?

    Remote Logins:
    Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Connection)?
    VNC?
    LogMeIn?
    Splashtop?

As Leeshor pointed out, hard to do a one size fits all. We can assist, but it will be hard as IMO not that many users are using XP SP2, most are XP SP3 or Win 7.

    tks 4 that....

But could we at least have a STEP-BY-STEP that shows what we 'should' see along the way?

I still don't know what you are wanting to accomplish.

Norcross Georgia .... Hey Y'all, I reck'in what I want to accomplish is to connect my TF201 to a WinXP SP2 system.. VIA USB, cable.... What I expect to see was a drive letter like when I plugin my Android Phone.....

What I hoped was for a STEP-BY-STEP guide that shows 'HowTo', Whats required, and what to look for.......
As an Engineer of 30+ years in the UNIX Server World... I prefer to know what to expect.... so when troubleshooting a situation I can see where things went arye, a procedure problem or something is actually broken or missing....

    IS there such a guide?

For any windows XP, be sure you have WMP 11 installed.

The Eee Pad tablets mount as MTP devices and need Windows Media Player 11 or newer or they will not mount.

I would make a guide for you, but I only have computers running Windows 7, Windows 8 Consumer Preview and OS X Lion available.
