Screen turns on by itself
I notice once in awhile (like 1-4 times a month) after I turn off the screen, it turns off by itself a few seconds later. This doesn't happen if the tablet is docked and closed but obviously this isn't an acceptable long term solution.
Does this happen to anyone else? My serial is C20.

I think your explanation sounds like a trick
so I'll go by the title. Yes, I have seen it turn on by itself as have others, but it was a very long time ago since I've had it happen. That can be caused by an app that's trying to do something, (some alarms, active wallpaper, or other active widgets can cause it under certain conditions).
If you really aren't using your TF for something when it's sleeping try installing Auto Airplane Mode (by DON) to see if it makes a difference.
-
I have auto airplane by Don enabled to turn off wifi and bluetooth during sleep. However, the problem still happens.
It just happened today as well. The screen turned off by itself so I turned it off. However a couple hours later when I came back to my tablet the screen was on again and the battery dropped from 70% to 20%.....pretty dismal. I also did a factory reset only like 3 weeks ago (and I made sure to cold boot after each update) so I'm not sure if I should do another reset again.
-
When you did the factory reset and set it back up again, there was a prompt about syncing with Google and with ASUS, if you told your TF to sync, which is easy to do as a reflex action, it may have put you right back where you were. If you did a factory reset and didn't install anything, then tested your TF to see if it's still doing the same thing, and it does, then you have a problem with your TF.

This issue is probably more of an android issue, and I dont own any TF201.
I just posted for people to ask google for a fix, on android directly that is.
I see this issue on many different devices in many forums.

Given the fact that I understand the issue that you're experiencing accurately; I'm having the same issue with model Asus TF300T:
While browsing the web (maintaining 5 simultaneously active browser tabs), the browser program had (what I can only interpret as) "crashed" <--- if that's the proper diagnosis or term that describes an event consisting of the Asus TF300T default browser shutting down on its own – requiring me to then manually start the browser back up again).
On this occasion, this tablet’s browser “crash” repeated a total of 3 Xs - before the android tablet rebooted itself completely, and on its own.
It was following this self-triggered reboot, is when the same issue described above, began happening with my tablet
.
For anyone who would like to understand this particular malfunction in more detail, I’ll include specifics:
Following above described self-triggered reboot ---> The tablet was left laying without being touched, therefore, please note that the screen was dark/off as the tablet wasn’t being used.
Going from a screen that was off - the screen began lighting up on its own and staying on for a second or so before turning itself back off. It then remains off for roughly 8-10 seconds then comes back on for 1-2 seconds – before again going back off, and occasionally stays off for a longer period of time (amounting to roughly 1 - 2 minutes).
This process repeats.
It's been almost an hour since this specific issue began; consequently, I haven't gotten a chance to properly identify the problem nor explore any solutions.
I plan on revisiting this page as I’d like to contribute whatever information I find - that others may benefit from.
