    Angry overheating micro sd card

After a few seconds, the micro sd card and surrounding area on the tablet get extremely hot. When I inserted the card in my laptop the message said it needed to be formatted, but that operation failed, indicating the card was damaged. The card had worked fine in the laptop before that. Is the tablet slot defective?

Welcome to the Forum Booker... Sounds like a defective unit. I would contact Asus Repair.

Maybe not a dodgy TF, I bought a 32G micro SD Sandisk that worked once, it got hot then died, my PC and my netbook could see it but not format it, my phone ignored it if I recall. This was before I purchased a tablet so this was PC only. The replacement worked just fine. Other Sandisk devices of the same capacity and speed and model have all worked perfectly. Possibly a faulty micro SD card. May be worth trying another card? (cheap low capacity old card comes to mind)

that's what I thought - the tablet's only a week old - thought there'd be better quality control
