    Using the Kindle on TF201

    Hi
I'm reading a lot of books with the Kindle App on my new tablet. Moving between pages is easy but how do I :
    go to a particular page
    go to the start
    see page numbers
    archive books I've read

Is there a guide to using the Kindle App on the transformer Prime?
    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you

    AFM

From my experience, there are no page numbers on Kindle for Android, only Locations. If you tap on the screen you will see a Location X of Y and a percentage. You can slide this left and right to jump through the book. A lot of the reason for the locations instead of page numbers is due to differences in how the book is laid out based on orientation and font size selected.

To archive a book you have read, long press on the book and choose "Remove from this device"

Thank you Frederuco for the information. I've not noticed the Location x of x % but I will follow your advice and give it a go.

The books that you read on the Kindle are archived on the folder Kindle which you can find in the "File Manager" . You can put more books there.

I prefer reading via "My Library" app. There you can see the book list of chapters with pages numbers and go to a particular chapter or start etc.
"My Library" can handle Epub files which Kindle can't.

As far as the OPs original question goes, he has the best answer there is already.

As far as this reply is concerned,
ONE - this is incorrect, it used to be correct, but hasn't been for some months now ( if the Kindle app has been kept properly up to date)
TWO - this is "correct", but there are much, much better solutions

There should be a toolbar at the top margin of the kindle display. If it is not visible, tap the middle of the kindle display and it will appear. At the upper-right corner (the rightmost part of the toolbar), there should a column of three tiny squares; tap that and you will see a drop-down menu displaying the go to's that you are looking for.

I have another problem with some Kindle books on my TF201. I emailed some books (.mobi extension) to my my tablet and they were received. However, although they're viewable in Gmail, it doesn't recognize the files to let me transfer them to the kindle directory. ???

Any ideas how to remedy this problem? Thanks.

Can you save the files? They will be saved to the /sdcard/Downloads/ directory if it gives this option from the GMail app. If so, then just use a file manager to move them to the Kindle directory.

One - I have updated TF201, recently purchased . Perhaps when downloading books from Amazon they go to a different folder but -
If you transfer ebooks from PC or card or USB stick and put them in the Kindle folder they appear when you open the Kindle app.

Two - Agree that there are quite a few better or more advanced options for reading with the tablet but mentioned the "My Library" as it is already in the TF201 and for a starter this E-reader is simple, clear and comfortable to the eyes.
