Google Play - can't detect my tablet

    Hi All,

I just got a Transformer Prime TF101 and tried using the new Google Play site to download some apps. But it reports back 'device not detected' like it doesn't recognize my tablet and won't let me download anything. Has anyone run into this problem or know how to correct it?

    Thanks!

Hi Chanman, welcome to the forum. Did you register your google account on your Prime?
Google Play (former App Market) cannot see your device if it is not registered with the google account.

    Welcome to the forum

Have you set up a Google account on the tablet?
Have you tried using the Market/Play app on the tf?

    Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome and the quick answers.

The Market app on the tablet works - I was able to download some apps there.

On the Google Play site I log in with my gmail account. When I search out an app it tries to auto-detect my device - at least that's what it looks like it's doing. But after a while says it can't find it. Maybe I need to enter some information manually. I may need to take a closer look.

Have you used Google Play successfully?

    Thanks!

You might see if restating your TF helps. Just hold the power button down long enough and it will restart. There are a few other things to try if that doesn't work, one is to delete the Google account, restart and add the account back.
