    Weak WiFi

WiFi signal strength of the TFP201 that I purchased about a week ago is weak compare to our laptops and iPAD2. Throughput is 2-3 Mbps lower. GPS is non existence. I tried the squeeze trick along the top of the tablet to no avail. Are there anything I can do to improve the WiFi receive signal strength before I return it? Thanks for your advise.

I phoned Asus & asked this same question. My hp laptop, android cell phone, & my daughter's ipad2 all work fine in my house & outside on porches, etc. But my Prime ....the replacement for the 1st one that did the same thing. ... will only work in my living room. Asus rep told me they would send me a return postage label and I would be able to return it. -no charge. ....They will add a plastic card (I think) which should correct the wifi problem. My question is this.... has anyone done this? AND did it work? I love the Prime but I don't want to waste my chance for a refund by sending it for a repair that doesn' t work.

First time I here of the plastic card.. This plastic card may be a window that wil give the wifi and GPS the functionality it should have.
    I would do it.

I stand corrected. I installed "inSSIDer 2.1" on one of my laptops and compared the signal strength side-by-side for a while. The numbers are actually quite close. Signal strength on the TFP is only about 1-2 db weaker. When the TFP201 wifi signal goes down, so did the laptop's.
