    How do I connect my transformer prime to my docking station

    hello all,

    I just received my transformer prime and docking station. out of the box, the mounting bracket on the dock is in the storage position (down). How do I unlock it to up position that will allow for connecting to the tablet?

    Hello and welcome, I wondered the same thing when I first got my dock. I just held the mounting bracket from the front and moved it into position with my thumbs. It was and still is stiff.
    Make sure that you take the two rubber plugs out next to the dock connection on the prime (you may have to use a pin to do this as they are in there quiet tightly.
    Dont forget that you need to charge them up fully before you use them.
    There is also a post in here about hints tips and videos which I find to be really helpful once you have charged everything up and of course the members and mods are really great here too.

    Enjoy

    I don't have the Prime, still on the original, but the mounting bracket is a hinge, just raise it to perpendicular, and make sure you remove the rubber inserts before engaging the tablet!

    Thanks Sculptedstylus.... I did not have the keyboard when I got my Prime but...... I think I saw somewhere that they should be charged together for the first time. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks to you all, that solved my issue. I really did not want to break it.

    Answer = Carefully

    I got mine earlier this week and the hinge part on the dock is pretty tight, but not locked.

    I very carefully grabbed it on both ends and rotated backwards so the tablet would slide on.

    Also, make sure to remove the 2 rubber plugs from the tablet. a stick pin worked for me.

    So now that you have the hinge opening pointing up, gently push the tablet down into the hinge by aligning the corners and press down.
    Once it is in all the way, the little lock will engage and you're all set. The tablet will chime that it is connected.

    The hinge has loosened up a little for me, but it will and should always have some resistance to keep the tablet from flopping down.

    Hope this helps.

    You may be right, but I haven't heard that there is any advantage to charge them together, I know you should update them together.
