    File manager freezes when external usb or sd storage is plugged in

    My TF201 has suddenly developed a problem where I cannot view or access content on the usb or external sd card. File manager or any other program just freezes when I try to access the content. Has anyone else observed this? All help appreciated.

    So noone else has this issue?

    Can anyone recommend the best way to contact ASUS for advice?

    Have you tried the devices on a PC?
    The only time I have seen this is if the devices are formated incorrectly.

    Both devices worked fine on my TF201 up until a couple of days ago so I don't think it has anything to do with formatting. Now, the tablet registers that the device has been plugged in but any attempt to look at the contents just freezes up!

    Restart your Prime with the device attached.

    The UK firmware update today doesn't seem to have helped either. I am wondering if I should just wipe the system?

    Update: I wiped all user data and started from scratch and the problem still persists.

    Does anyone know where I can go from here? I am stumped - all help appreciated

    There is a good chance you'll find your answer by doing a factory reset. Make certain when you sign back on that automatically installing or updating apps is not turned on and do a backup first. I wager that just after the setup part everything will work but that leaves the problem as one of the apps you installed. Then you will need to put your detective hat on to figure out what/which.

    Is factory reset the 'wipe data' option? Or is there another means of resetting?

    The most certain way to do it is through settings. You will know for certain that it's doing what it's supposed to do.
