    Website Security Certificate

Hi All, wondering if anyone can advise. Had the prime now for 2 weeks and very happy. I use it alot for work and in particular downloading word documents from a supplier's website. Last night however, I got a pop up saying "there is a problem with this website's security certificate" - The website actually works fine in terms of navigation, but unfortunately for me, it wont download any documents from the site... just gets stuck during the download.

Website has been working fine up until now and downloaded plenty of docs from it previously. Likewise i am able to download other docs from other sites. Ive tried using the Dolphin browser, and also cleared the cache.

Any ideas?? Really dont want to factory reset! Maybe a setting ive overlooked?

Welcome to the forum, a websites certificate is probably not a problem with your TF unless you have the date set way wrong. That alert pops up normally in case someone is spoofing a website with a fake phishing site, the certificate is there to make sure that site is who it says it is. Certificates have expiry dates so there is a good chance the website owner has not renewed it.

On a PC you can tell it to ignore that error, maybe try using a different browser ?

This is a question that I have often wondered about. When I have looked at the certificates, often they ARE from a reliable source, like Verisign for example, and yet the security warning still comes up. This has even happened to me on the Orange website & as I was accessing it from my normal bookmark, I definitely wasn't being phished or spoofed. I always thought that some sort of list was out of date on my device or within the Google database or somewhere. Is there any way to update something like this?

Maybe if you were connecting via a server or proxy or gateway that was messing with the connection in some way, it may see the certificate as invalid when it is fine.

I know what you mean, but I don't think it was that - I could see the certificate OK. I have noticed this more on an older tablet runing android 2.1, less on my Galaxy S running 2.2 and only very, very occasionally on the tf101 all connecting through my bog standard, untweeked, Orange home bb (you know me, I don't fiddle with the tech stuff) which is why I suspect some form of database in the OS which does not get updated.
