dice player and mx video player do not display playback controls on tv
this is not strictly a transformer prime issue, but i hope somebody can help me anyway.
when i'm using the hardware decoder function with these two players, none of the video controls are visible on the tv. Is there any way to fix this?
because without any way of controlling playback the whole thing is a bit useless.

Hi,
MX Video Player controls are on the screen if I remember correctly?
Swipe left/right to go back/forward.
Swipe Up/down for on left of screen brightness.
Swipe Up/down for on right of screen volume.
Hope this helps
Edit, or just touch the screen to bring up the playback controls and scrollbar

I'm not going to walk down to my TV just to change volume, this isn't the 60's
For me one of the main reasons for buying this tablet was to use it as a video playback device, i'm really disappointed in this.

Sorry if I misunderstood your first post?
So you are playing videos on the TF and using HDMI to show then on your TV?
If that is the case, what controls are you expecting to see on the screen?
Been a long day!!

The same ones as when the tablet is not plugged into the tv: at least a play/pause button and the time bar.

From my experience I don't think you will be able to control anything on the TF from the TV, if that's what you are trying for. Best bet is a longer HDMI cable.

Extending the video to a TV is as far as I know a one way system, the TF is in control of the playing of the video, and the Tv is just an external monitor.
As leeshor suggested, a longer HDMI cable is possibly the way forward?
That way you can control the TF at your side while watching on the TV?

i can control it just fine with a BT mouse when playing movies in sw mode. i am just wondering why the controls and the mouse aren't visible on the tv when i switch to hw mode.
at least the tablet is capable of playing 720p movies in sw mode as well, i guess i'm just not going to use hw mode until this problem is resolved.

It looks like this is a Transformer Prime-specific bug after all:
On-screen controls not displayed on TV - MX Video Player | Google Groups
Does anybody know where i can report bugs on ASUS' website? It's so confusing

It happens with the original Transformer as well - I tried to use the TV to watch some clips but subtitles and commands didn't appear on the TV screen, just on the TF101.
