Long press the folder or the file, choose copy to / move to

ES File Explorer is a good file manager to use

Thank you but I'm none the wiser The music on the SD card automatically appears on any of the players but I have no idea how to copy it onto the prime or where to store it for future use, this applies to other files as well.

What Detection is explaining is that you need to use a file manager ( as you would in windows ) to copy or move files.

There is a file manager that comes with your tfp. If you don't like it, or it doesn't do all that you require, then there are other file manager apps that you can download free from the market. Detection mentioned one, another is Astro.

PLEASE Search for existing threads before posting a new one. Thanks.

Aye, that installed manager shows the folder on the SD card and even lets me copy/cut it but then I can't seem to be able to paste it where I can access it.Sorry, but I can breeze all of this on a PC but I appear to be a thicko on android..

Are you using Astro, and what is the path you are trying to copy from and paste to?

Using the stock file manager the paste button should be at the top.

I am not 100% sure how the cards are mounted in ICS, but in Honeycomb they SD card is /Removable/SD/ and the internal is /sdcard/ (also available at /mnt/sdcard/). You should have full access to read & write in these locations.

    1. Download and install this file manager HERE

    2. Open ES File Explorer on the Prime

    3. Navigate to /Removable/MicroSD (Or SDCard wherever you have your files)

    4. Press and hold your finger on the files or folders you want to copy

    5. When the popup appears, choose COPY TO or MOVE TO depending if you want them to remain on the SDCard or not too.

    6. With the new COPY TO window that appeared, navigate to the desired destination folder you wish to move your files into

    7. Press PASTE at the bottom of the popup window

    8. Repeat

Great stuff I now have the files on the file manager. How do I get the music folders to play on winamp now?
