How do I access USB with the dock? Help please

I plugged in a USB mouse into my Prime, and it doesn't recognize it. I also plugged in a flash drive, and no recognition by the Prime. Is there some special setting that I have to press, or am I doing something wrong?

Try restarting your TP and then plug your mouse in

I'm having the same problem with two different Sony USB Playstation 3 gamepads. Sometimes they work and other times they don't. Alas the suggestion of restarting the Prime then plugging in the gamepad does NOT work reliably/ :-(((

Try it with it already plugged in.

I think I've finally found a solution to the problem I was having with my wired PS3 USB gamepad. It appears I need to press and hold the PS button on the gmepad for a LONG time (aroud 15 seconds) until all 4 lights on the gamepad start flashing, at which point the Prime starts recognizing/responding tonthe gamepad?
