    Anyone else with random reboots?

My TP 64GB loves it to reboot completely random. I can't see any pattern in this behaviour. So after the random boot it begins to hang during the boot. I need to manually shut it down by holding the start-button. After that, the second boot flows most of the time - sometimes it needs even a third reboot.

I wondering if anyone else got a similiar problem? Or is this a 100% indication for a broken model which only concerns to me?

Furthermore my GPS won't work at all (but it's a known common problem) and in some rarely moments it stops to run smoothly.

What to do? Hoping for ICS to fix most of the issues or return it in hope for getting one that works?

Actually, they are available for almost a week but still very rarely. Right now, just one shop offers them in Germany:
ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201-1B074A Amethyst Grey bei notebooksbilliger.de

But thats not what this topic is about :-)

My suspicion is that you may have an app installed that it creating some sort of conflict. If not, have you done a hard reset? Link in my signature

Mine has rebooted on its own 3 times that I have seen. Every time it was in sleep mode laying on a table and it reboots. I have not seen a reboot in a few days so I'm hoping they passed.

    Hey,

have you done a restart since then? I get a random reboot for sure after every restart.

I don't have any uncommon apps installed. But if this problems won't disappear I will try a hard resert as measure of last resort. Hopefully, I am not forced to do it.

A hard reset or cold boot is NOT a factory reset & will not delete any of your data, it simply clears the ram memory of your tf and reboots linux android from scratch. Think of it as turning off the power to your pc, or dropping the battery from your laptop. There is a link in Leeshor's signature, above.

This issue is well documented with the tf101 - but not with all users - I myself have had 7 in total during October & November 2011, but none since. One of those was 100% due to Google Earth. AFAIK no-one has discovered why it is.

    Hey,

I tried it. I tried all of it. In the end, I did even a data wipe. But nothing helped and the boot still freezes. That was too much for me to handle right now and brought the Prime back to my distributor. I will wait till the next charge of devices will arrive and give it another shot...

I have had random reboots with my current Transformer Prime as well as the one I sent back that was my 2nd just-in-case pre-order. Both were the 32GB model but each of the colors. I am not sure how often it occurs, but it always occurs when it just is sitting there in sleep mode. If it was my guess, maybe once a day.

Question is, do you have an SD card in the keyboard dock. My TF101 rebooted all the time when I had a 16gb sd card in the dock. Removed it and am reboot free. Still not sure why.
