MicroHDMI / Projector connector/adapter

I am assuming that I will be able to use my new table (ordered 11/22) to drive presentations. Most projectors are still VGA. Does anyone know what will be needed in order to connect?

Additionally, any ideas regarding lowering the resolution as well?

Unfortunately you'll need an active adapter to convert the signal, HDMI output is digital and VGA is analogue. Off the top of my head you'd probably be looking at $50-100 for one of these.

I just ordered this:
ASUS Mini HDMI Male to VGA Female Adapter 90-XB2UOKCA00010 B&H

to use with my transformer in my classroom. It should do what you want and it is from Asus...no 3rd party stuff to worry about. If you want, I'll let you know how it goes when I get it next week.

Oh nice, if that's the price for an official Asus one, then you should be able to pick up cheaper third party ones, might grab one myself.

Asus Transformer Prime uses Micro HDMI unlike Mini HDMI on the original transformer, so don't accidentally order Mini HDMI to VGA if you are looking a converter cable for your TF Prime. Instead order Micro HDMI to VGA.

Thanks for the info , I just noticed that. Now I have to order HDMI Female to Micro HDMI Male ,and since I have already got the ASUS Mini to VGA I am searching for an adapter Micro to Mini.

Most "cheap 3rd party" ones I have seen are merely a cable and they do not have the Digital to Analog conversion that is required to make this work. HP has one that is quite similar that works, but beyond those 2, I have not heard of any other 3rd party brands that work (especially the ones that are less than $10 on Amazon and eBay.)
