Streaming HD video to TV - options?

I've just taken the plunge and bought myself a Transformer Prime and was wondering what the best way of streaming video from the tablet to my TV would be.

We have Apple TV that we currently use to play music from our iPhones to the home cinema and I read somewhere (possibly here) that you could also use it to stream video to the TV using AirSync (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...idPlayerProKey).

So I was interested to know if anyone has experience of this - does it work well, or is there a better way?

    Welcome to the forum

I have no experience with AppleTV - but the app I mention below states it will work with it.

In any case as long as you have something connected to your setup that has DLNA ability, then this thread might interest you...

iMediaShare - stream videos, photos & more from your TF to your TV via DLNA

This app certainly streams music quite happily as well as wirelessly displaying photos and/or videos too. I think it will work well for you.

Your Transformer should have a pre-installed app entitled mynet - this also enables you to use DLNA.

Cool, thanks - looks like there are a couple of options then! I like the fact that iMediaShare has a free version I can use to test it out first.

    Cheers

Just thought I'd update this for anyone also looking to do the same thing - I went with the paid version of iMediaShare and it streams to the apple tv perfectly.

Maybe there's something in the power settings to do with what happens when you close the lid? I'll have a play with it later on today and report back if I find a way!
