    USB wall outlet charger

    Hi guys!

Just joined the forum today! I ordered my transformer prime, and I'm awaiting it's delivery....should be here by friday.

Anyway, I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row for this beast. I have the keyboard dock and a decent case already. Next on my list is charging it.... Now, I know it comes with a USB charging cord. Does anyone know if it will be ok to use this:

    FastMac ACE-7702 U-Socket Decorator Duplex Dual Outlet Dual USB,110V,15AMP TruePower,White - Amazon.com

to charge it? I want to buy that one (or any other USB outlets) for my home, but I want to check to see if they will work with my tablet first. Thanks for any and all help!

    Welcome to the forum

Will it work, yes, will it work well, no. Not enough voltage coming from the USB ports. That would work well on most any other device you have but not the Transformer. That socket will output 5v and the TF needs 12v minimum and optimally 15v DC

    Hey, thanks!

So, I guess the question that remains is "Will it hurt my tablet?". I'll definitely use it to charge my ipods, droid phone, camera, etc. You said it won't work well....would it work if I'm not using the tablet? Will it provide some sort of charging? Will this destroy my tablets battery? Could I maybe charge the keyboard while it's separate from the tablet?

The last thing I want to do is get this and hurt my new toy with it.....Are there any other usb outlets that you know of that would work with the tablet?

You need a charger that outputs as described by leeshor. The correct output charges the tablet fully [from 4% - 100%] in approx. 2 1/2 hours. While the one you linked to might work, it would take far longer to charge the Transformer. You may get some ideas on non-ASUS chargers by checking Similar Threads listed at the bottom of this forum page.

Check out the Battery Use guide as well for advice.
