MP3 issues with an external hard drive

Hi guys, great forum and I've learnt a lot from the posts that have been put up. Thanks.

I'm running a WD 750GB portable HDD thru the USB port on the keyboard dock. The TF201 reads it fine. Can play movies off it, see images etc. But when it comes to music........not good. It will play one song (the one you select) and that song only and you have to select it thru a file managing program. You can't get it to play an album and you can't get a tag editor to see the HDD (not the one's I've downloaded anyway).

I've tried the following programs:
Pimp my music
Winamp
moboplayer
tag editor
and a couple of others I downloaded and then deleted because there is no provision to select the files and directories on the portable HDD.

Anyone know of any programs that WILL happily look at the HDD thru the USB connector and allow me to play albums in their entirety or edit the tags?

You could try Poweramp - there's a free version - using the stacked "boxes" top right you can go to settings>folders and library> check the removable/usbdisk1 [ should show up as name of your HDD ] and you can listen to albums through the app home page by clicking on the folder icon... I haven't tried it with a HDD myself.

Downloaded and set up and it works a treat. If you follow Swipes instructions above you can pick which folders the software looks in for music (some of the software I've used in the past shows pdfs and all sorts of crap you don't want, but you have no control over it). You need to remember to cue all the songs in the album if you want to hear the album in it's entirety. You can also make playlists AND you can edit the tags as you are looking at the songs.
