    Powerpoint Presentations

    Hi All,

Brand new to the forum, just purchased my Prime 201 yesterday with the keyboard accessory, so far very happy.

A question, I do a lot of power-point presentations and I use a logitech handheld control to toggle between slides no matter where I am in the room. It has a USB IR connector which plugs into a port on the computer I'm using. I have already loaded up a couple of presentations onto the prime and they work very well but my remote slide control is not being recognized. Is this normal and if it is, is there a work around or accessory I can purchase?

    Thanks for the help.

    Welcome to the forum RPA

If the part that plugged into your laptop required any drivers in order to make it work the answer would be a pretty definite no. If it didn't require any CD or drivers then the answer is really only a maybe. The Android supports very few devices that require driver support unless the device specifies support for Android.

You could try restarting your TF with the IR connector plugged it. But I don't hold out a lot of hope.

    Thanks for the quick reply,

The xternal devise is plug and play no software no CD's the receiver plugs into a USB port and away you go. I will try the reboot with the device plugged in and get back to you with result.

If memory serves some devices are detected under windows as HID devices and don't require drivers. Others just have drivers that sip with windows. The former work on my prime, the latter don't

To do this: you are best to put Splashtop on a Laptop or PC that hooks to your overhead etc then you use your TF201 with Splashtop THD installed on it.
Then the tablet acts as the remote, you control your Laptop or PC with it using the Wifi and can walk around the room, see the presentation on the tablet with notes etc.
also gives you the speed of the original device. I use it with my HP Laptop with HDMI to the LCD Overhead Projector in the classroom and it works beautiful.

I am using Logitech R800 pointer , and it is working flawlessly switching between slide in Polaris Office Presentation mode. I am sure most of pointers should work fine if the app supports key up -down or Right and left on the keyboard.

It should work when you switch to presentation mode in Polaris office.
