    usb audio out to dac

Does anyone know if the TF201 C3 serial number support audio out via usb.
I bought the TF201 because I will not support apple. However one of my primary uses is listening to my music colllection through a set of high end high impedance headphones and the tablet just doesn't have enough juice.

I would like to use a dac/headphone amplifier but I have been unsuccessful to find out if it will be possible.

    Thanks in advance.

Just an update. I still haven't been able to find an answer. I emailed asustek Canada on the 29th and no response yet.

    Welcome!

I have a USB DAC too.

As far as I know there is no way to use one with android devices.

    The problem is no drivers.

Maybe there's a way to write an app to use it but it's not something I can do.

OK, but that's not USB. You can use any amp like that.

Dave, I also own Fiio E17 DAC/Amp. I connect the E17 with USB to a Asus USB adapter and it does not work. The audio is still coming out of the Prime speaker. Can you post step by step instructions. It appears you are using the headphone jack out to the Fiio E11 amp. I want to by pass the dac in the Prime and pass the digital bit stream to the E17. Thanks for your help. Rocky Android

Did you know you can bypass through the digital bit stream via LOD dock to a DAC e.g. Fiio E17 on an iPad? If I knew this I would not buy the Prime. There got to be a solution. An ideas?

Not sure, but Jellybean comes with -or at least been told so- to come with USB Audio enabling capability. with ALSA, using a USB based DAC should be pretty close. But again, I'm not sure about newest DACs ie FiiO E17, which needs quite a lot of juice. Love to hear more on this.

OVerall, with my LCD-2, I wouldn't carry the damn thing anywhere out of my house due to its poor insulation, but with my new closed ear Fostex TH900, I would love to listen to high quality sound on-the-go with TFP.
