scanning through settings and found my first surprise today,
go to settings, battery, click on wifi and yet another means to save power, besides knowing just how much power is being drawn by wifi and other apps. having a setting to allow the wifi to automatically turn off when not being actively used instead of the old standby airplane mode where it is off until you go back and turn it back on manually is nice to have. it would be good to know from those who try this option how well it works or if they encounter any unexpected issues like having trouble starting wifi up again, if it is slow to restart, etc.
also under asus customized settings, can disconnect from network activities off while in sleep mode, more power savings.

Funny, how just when you think life can't possibly get any worse it suddenly does. -Douglas Adams-
This feature has been there and I have been using it for a while now. I works well 98% of the time, every once in a while it is slowwwwww to reconnect to my wifi.
I sometimes have to manually reconnect.
