in regards to wifi found something while playing around with channels, freq. matters
several weeks back after doing some reading and also finding that a neighbor had their wifi set to channel six as was my setup i switched to a different channel, frequency for my router and i went from good to really good in terms of signal strength. so today i had some down time i went through all eleven channels to see how and if there would be much of an impact and i was totally surprised by how much of a difference channel/frequency made for my prime. i only have 11 channels, started with 1 and worked my way up, at every step higher my signal strength improved slightly but an increase nonetheless. ten where i had it before was second best, 11 third best, but channel 9 at 2452mhz gave me a 96% signal strength compared for example to channel 1 at 61%. as said ten and eleven were close but for some reason 2452mhz seems to be a sweet spot for me. it may be for others as well so if you have the time and want to give it a try you might just get a bump like i did. if you aren't certain how to do it, search for your router, modem makers site and look for instructions or input your ip address e.g. 192.138..x.x and hit enter. be careful if you haven't done this before but it isn't hard at all and for a 30% increase for me it was well worth it.

doesn't help for my router. whenever i change the channel, wifi analyzer would tell me another is better. keeps happening .

That's normal as radio waves do change. Just pick the one that is consistant.

Yup and turn OFF your router and run the Analyzer. Then pick your channel....

It will certainly make it very easy to identify vacant v. in use channels locally, but it won't tell you which channel has the best propagation in your specific conditions unless you try every channel in turn on your router and see which gives the best signal strength - which is what the OP was describing.
