    Browser questions

Is it advisable to install a different browser than the standard one?

How do I import bookmarks from my PC to the tablet?

    Hi Kristian

    1. It isn't necessary, but it may be desirable I have a number of free browsers installed from the market (Google Play) including Dolphin HD & Opera

    2. Syncing your bookmarks can be done, but it is reliant on using a browser on your PC that has an android version available with the ability to sync. One idea that I read was to export your bookmarks on your PC (in Firefox this produces a html doc with all the bookmarks as links) & then copy that doc onto your tablet. You could always email it to the gmail address for your tablet if that was easiest for you.

There are some links in my signature that you might find interesting.

Thx for the quick reply. I'm not going to need 'a number of browsers', so could you recommend just one?

I like Dolphin HD enough to pay for it.

I mentioned two already, but your best bet is to download a few & see which one/s you like best Here is a list for you..

Dolphin HD - my main browser because I like the add ons available & the way it handles bookmarks
Opera - because sometimes only Opera will load a flash page properly or download a webmail attachment
Stock browser - much improved in ICS, now has no typing lag
ICS+ Browser - adds features to the stock browser

Hope this helps Others seem to like Boat, Maxthon & Chrome for ICS (but this is only in beta stage)

I have been using Xmarks since it was foxmarks. It keeps your bookmarks sync'd across all of your devices (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.). If you pay for a premium membership (~$1/month) you can get the app for your tablet. The main app will sync with your Browser bookmarks. There is also a plugin for Dolphin HD.

While you may only want one browsers it's best to have a few as backup. I mostly use Chrome for its speed but if I want to watch an flash stuff like iPlayer, I go back to the stock browser. Not ideal but sometimes you've got to chop and change to get things to work.

ime thus far stock browser is the best for me. i loved dolphin and opera on previous tabs, but they both have things that keep them from being as perfect for me as stock. opera crashed on certain vid websites like colbertnation and dolphin... cant remember what the problem with it was offhand.

I'm a major fan of Chrome. if you use the computer version and have sync set up it'll keep your bookmarks synced between devices. The only thing I would say is missing is password sync
