transformer prime and advertised battery life

I wanted to start yet another discussion about battery life. Now most of the time this tablet is my only relaxation so I will watch netflix etc. on it. That means a brighter screen setting and wifi. With this stuff its about 12-13 hours with the dock. Now this is far from the 18 hours. I am finally getting close to the claimed 18 hours. To do this all wireless is off and only a few programs are open. Mainly it's word to go word processing. Also it's set to eco mode with the screen on about 25% brightness. Is there something else I can do or is this the most I could ever expect out of this tablet?
PS, Auto Airplane by DON is installed. Latest firmware installed. It did seem to increase my battery life by about 1-2 hour or so.

Remember, advertising is going to make things sound as good as they possibly can, and this was advertised with honeycomb still on the tablet, which probably uses a little less battery than ICS. What you have done is a great step, I can't really think of much more. Just my $.02.

P.S. if you go into the settings>battery menu it should show what is using the most of the battery. Check in there to see what it is. That monster 10.1" screen is typically on the top.

hmm it says "battery usage data is not available" it also shows a completely different time frame than what I have in reality (says on battery for 48 minutes ) and today it was on for more like 6 hours.

I've noticed the same thing, where, no matter how long I have the tablet on, I never have battery usage data available.

The battery life on any device is really only a guideline and as bfmetcalf said, advertising plays a part but it all depends on how you are using the tablet. I have seen 17+ hours general use but watching movies does put a bigger strain on the battery.

As for seeing usage, (I though the most recent update had fixed that for those having a problem) I suggest getting Dual Battery Widget from the Google Play store. It has a really nice usage graph.

Dual battery widget is pretty good. Anyone know of one that also clocks program usage?

I've gone 16 hours on my Prime with the dock playing music and barely 8 hours on the Prime with the dock and with most of it in my bag. In the latter case the tablet was on and evidently running something intensive in the background / never went into sleep mode. I've had this happen a few times on ICS and uninstalled programs that had "running" portions until it battery usage went back to normal. Suggest if your battery life seems to be going down real fast to look at running apps very closely.
