How do these WiFi results compare?

In the same area I used SpeedTest.net to compare my Phone(Samsung Galaxy SkyRocket 2), my Laptop and my Prime. These are the results:

    laptop
    ping 15ms
    dl 9.22 Mbps
    ul 4.10 Mbps

    phone
    ping 24ms
    dl 8094 Kbps
    ul 4152 Kbps

    prime
    ping 33ms
    dl 5007 Kbps
    ul 2878 Kbps

The final day to return the Prime to Amazon is next Tuesday. What do you think of these results?

It seems to me that the ping times should have been closer together. Did you test the Prime after a fresh power up?

The results may have been chipset differences and router configuration that worked better for the laptop. Your phone results weren't anything to write home about either. My guess is that with a little fine tuning on the router those figures may improve for the phone and tablet.

No the prime had not been turned off for a few days when I did this test. Does it seem like my wifi on the prime is not one of the bad ones? Also, if I configure the router to work better with the phone and tablet will I lose some speed on the laptop?

Could you, point us to something that would explain what "fine tuning" we could perform on our routers? I'm always looking for better performance.

Surely it's better to just test the WiFi in terms of your own usage? do wesbites load fast and videos stream fast enough for you? If so there's really no need to start comparing numbers in order to make your decision..

You might end up with the laptop performing better but it should not have an adverse affect.

Some of the suggestions that have worked well are in the WiFi link in my signature. Things like simply changing the channel on the router have dramatically improved performance for some.

.Here something good, I'm at the airport on there free WiFi, connect smooth as silk, 2 bars only, but lighting fast, 60 dBm analyzer, funny thing is that my 3rd Generation iPod is having problem connecting, and butt slow to connect, said cannot connect, I have done it before, butt at that time butt slow, so gave up on the iPod, using my GREAT Prime!
Last night I bought the Asus Router N56. still have to do some testing, so far not impressed, my Netgear was better, but my friend said if the connection speed is set to high, that may be part of the problem? When I get back home will do more testing, I have 30 days to return it.
Where I'm going I may not get WiFi because their router is far away in their office, and I'll be up stairs. Have a Great one Guys.
