Id feel a lot more comfortable if I could find someone with 26.89, im hoping I dont have a unit with 900MB worth of bad sectors, that were reserved in the intial format of the device. Is there a way to do a low level format of the internal storage?

You can try a restore factory defaults. That should get rid of anything accidentally added to it to see if that helps at all... Don't think it will do much, but it never hurts. As for formatting, it is partitioned into a bunch of partitions so formatting would be difficult and very dangerous as you could potentially brick the device. I believe the NVFlash program can do some things, but I'm not sure how in depth it goes and it may void your warranty...

27.67 here and it does not seem like there is a high degree of differentiation (be good if more can post or start a poll). My 32G expansion cards also both show up as 29.71 in the Prime. One I formated in the Prime...the other on a PC.
I would probably return the unit and replace if I had that much difference and it was on total memory (not available). Given their track record on this launch, I would not be surprised to see a faulty module escaping their quality checks. Other than flashing to factory defaults I would not recommend any base memory format. Let ASUS deal with it.

My brand new one back from support also only has 26 and some change... :-(

Was it like that before you sent it in? I wonder if there is a different ROM or have something to do with specific store versions?
If it helps for comparison:
Android version 4.0.3
GPS Version: 6.9.13
Wi-Fi Version: 6.1.1.17
Bluetooth version: 9.23
Camera verison: TF201-0x9900
Kernal version: 2.6.39.4
My unit was not bought through Gamestop (came from BB) so did not come with Riptide pre-installed.

Mine was not a repair. It was a brand new replacement. My specs are on the Rma thread.

I have a thread going on xda. From my research there are as many as three different primes, although I'd like to see more users with the 27.88 I had reported, so far only 1.
27.88,...
,
27.67
26.89,
Are the three different sizes I've seen reported. 27.67 being the most common. You know I'd really love to talk to a class action lawyer these issues are stacking up. I'd love to see a complete recall to fix my beloved Primes. Don't get me wrong. I've probably been buying ASUS longer than anyone on these forums. I have put nothing but ASUS motherboards in my computers since 1992 and I love their products and love my prime. All I want is to get what I paid for. I am not mad at asus, stuff happens that's out of their hands and I'm sure they didn't intend to do this. I would however like them to step up to the plate and fix these issues. All 3 of my primes can't go 15 feet without going from 25mbps down to about 4....forget about GPS working...and now to have as much as 1gb of missing storage, really bums me out. I don't want a different tablet....sigh...bare minimum I'd like to see wifi fixed..I can't even plug a USB wifi single into the dock.
Thinking class action in afraid may be the only option.. but to be honest. I will just buy a TF700 that has the improved wifi, and give my prime to a relative sigh....
