USB Adapter

So how are these adapters? Can you connect an external hard drive? How about a wireless keyboard or a thumb drive?

The USB port on the dock will allow one to connect a USB external drive, even a non self powered one, or jump drive etc. I will add this though, its slow as molasses above the artic circle! Like USB 1.0 speeds at best. I actually found I got faster file transfer using the wifi file transfer app than the USB port.

Wow I am surprised the external hard drive that wasn't powered by a wall outlet worked, I thought I had read that a hard drive that got its power through USB wouldn't work on the keyboard dock so I am impressed it worked with the USB adapter off the prime.

Transfer should be same as if you connect it to a computer.

And what are you talking about stream????
If you want to know if you can watch a movie that's on a external harddrive the answer is yes.

Thanks for the info! I have a K260 Logitech KB and mouse...should work fine. That'll keep me from having to fork out for a Bluetooth setup! I have an external 320 USB home brew with a seagate drive in it. No power...runs off the USB port so I'll see if that works when I get the adapter in my hands.....

For the mouse and keyboard I had to use the little dongle that connect to USB.

External drives even worked with the TF101. I have a 500 GB Toshiba portable drive that does not require additional power and works just fine with the TF101 or TF201. Someone said transfer speed was slow. I can stream 720P video via this drive with no isue on the Prime.
