Best Wireless Router for Transformer Prime? For best range and speed
I've been looking around to buy Dual Band Wireless N router for a while and with my TP arriving soon, i decided to buy one. So i was just wondering what would be the best wireless router for Transformer Prime.
According to AnandTech, TP was able to achieve 31+ Mbps Netgear WNDR4500 and they were able to confirm 36 Mbps from their own testing. I've done some research and there are some routers that have received better reviews.
so the question is, will any quality Dual Band Wireless N router be able to achieve same result? is there some sort of compatibility issues i need to worry about?
currently i am looking at Netgear WNDR4500 and Cisco Linksys E4200 v2. Also, if you know any better routers at that price range, let me know.
thx ahead

BringItSon,
I would recommend Asus "Black Diamond" router (RT-N56U). Check out specs. Cost ~$130.

Ruckus 7962 if your looking for the best, but it will cost you.

thx for the recommendation, but it seems like it does not support the new 3 stream wifi which could affect the range and speed.

I have the E4200 router.....regardless of use, it's a great router....the fastest, and furthest reaching I've ever had.
Depending on where I am in the house, I've had speeds of about 9 MB/s (is that right)? At it's fastest, a 1 GB file takes 1.5 minutes to move between two computers.
I had the Netgear WNDR 3700 and it was decent....but had connectivity issues with a range of devices and computers, so I couldn't depend on it.
I'm *not* sure of the speed to my Transformer. Usually I measure between two Windows PCs because they report on the time it takes to move a file.....I haven't tried something similar with the Transformer. Maybe there's an app that'll measure it? I haven't found one. Lots of tools like Speedtest will measure my speed downloading files over the Internet......but the better dual band routers are capable of moving files much quicker than most people's internet connections.

Keep in mind the 3 stream WiFi *only* works with compatible devices. The E4200 router will do it...but you have to have a NIC that works with the 3 streams....and, last time I checked, I wasn't able to find any. I've got no idea if the Transformer Prime supports 3 streams.

+1. I've had no issues with my WIFI connection. I've gotten similar speeds to the ones PAB5204 reported.
