The facial recognition feature was next to useless as a photo of someone could fool it. Not much security. The NFC you refer too also requires some hardware in order to operate.

Face Unlock's point was not to protect the phone from people who have a photo of you. The point was to protect it from people who are strangers. If you want to protect your phone's access from your friend or partner and he or she is willing to go far enough to unlock it with a photo you have other problems that need to be dealt with.
Don't even see face lock anywhere we should have the feature right?
I don't really care one way or another about facial recognition but I would like to have beam enabled. These are two separate things correct? Why would they not enable beam when its about transferring files from one device to another.

You might see the facial recognition become useful once it integrates with 3d cameras.
