You will likely receive a repaired Prime, unless the necessary part is unavailable, in which case I would expect your unrepaired unit would be returned to you as "unrepairable" - what else would you expect them to do?
Stuff gets to be discontinued, models get superceded by later models for which the planning and design started well before release of the previous model - Asus are not doing anything any other manufacturer doesn't do. I could go down the road right now and buy an iPad2, but I know that there's an iPad3 on the near horizon, which will certainly be followed by a 4 and probably a 5, etc., - and I suspect the designers at Apple are already talking to the marketing folks about what the iPad4 should look like and do.
I feel for everyone with wifi & bluetooth problems. My unit has a non-functioning GPS, which I've decided to live with b/c I purchased it not even knowing its supposed to have that feature. All other features with my unit are spectacular. My iPad 1 & 2 isn't even on the same level to be compared with the prime. Keep fighting, and with luck, and I mean extreme luck.... Asus will do something for those with wifi & gps problems. If that's the case, it'll just be a plus for me.
