    3G models will have good GPS.

    Asus responded to the GPS issues in a Taiwan press conference on 1/6 that:
    1) customers can return the TP with no time limit (this is a big deal as the norm is 7 days in Taiwan);
    2) the warranty will be extended from 1 year to 1.5 years;
    3) future 3G models will have a different design and good GPS.

    I have a feeling they will later qualify that "no time limit" statement. Six months should be plenty. By that time, GPS should be long gone from the specs in packaging, advertising, brochures, etc.

    I wonder if they will extend that offer for everyone, and not just Taiwan customers. How many of you guys will exchange your TP for the 3g version?

    I don't think they will give you a 3G version in exchange - Aren't 3G versions going to be more expensive?

    After reading this I'm glad I didn't end up being one of the people who
    already got their primes.

    I think I'll just wait till March.

    "The Taipei-based manufacturer will unveil a 7-inch Android-powered tablet and a 10-inch model enabling higher screen resolution at the Consumer Electronics Show in the United States next week, with another two 10-inch Android products to be launched in the first half of this year, he said.

    Asustek also plans to introduce a tablet featuring Microsoft Corp.'s Windows 8 system and a chipset from ARM Holdings Plc in the second half of 2012, but the shipments will be limited this year due to the product's late launch, Hu said.

    Meanwhile, the company expects to begin shipping the 3G version of the Transformer Prime in March, which will offer better global positioning system (GPS) connectivity than the Wi-Fi version "

    Won't a 3g version have to go through a carrier? Obviously I'm not familiar with how it works.

    Yeah, they'd be tied to carriers. We also have no idea whether they'd be CDMA or GSM (or both). Hopefully the "redesign" to account for 3G will just be adapted to the regular model as well, and perhaps a trade-in possible for the improved Wi-Fi.

    How soon we forget. Doesn't anyone see the irony? How many people on this forum preordered in November 2010 for a Prime and don't have one yet? Think that the "March" launch of the 3g will somehow be better? Or will even happen at all?

    I may only be speaking for myself, but please don't feel sorry for me. I'm loving the Prime that I am fortunate enough to already have.
