Office Depot Shipped New Prime with Very Low Serial Number

On Friday, I received my 32GB Prime from Office Depot. The serial number is under 9000 (the last 4 digits). I have been reluctant to open it based on:
A) The low production number seems to have more problems
B) It seems that most other vendors are now shipping units in the 30000 to 45000 serial number range
C) I still have a 64GB Prime on order with Amazon that's at least three to 6 weeks out
D) Opening the box may impact my ability to return it and/or sell it at a premium on Craig's List

If you have a TFP with a low serial number, please (especially if you just received it from OD), Please reply with your experiences both positive and negative, from this compiled list of common complaints below:

A) Wifi connectivity, strength and persistence
B) Screen quality (vibrant vs. washed out)
C) Pixel issues (missing or stuck)
D) Squeaky frame
E) Battery life,
F) GPS
G) Unresponsive Multi-touch zones and/or
H) anything else I missed

I recognize that people usually only post when there is a problem. So if you have have a 4 digit Serial number please respond. Let us know about your Serial number as well. My Tablet is 085XX

I just looked at the last 4 serial numbers and it is...083XX.. wow its way under 9000. Should I be concerned or contact Staples or Asus for a replacement asap?

Just trying to gather data points. I don't think there is a need for concern, especially if you don't have any problems!

I have 6XXX and have 10 stuck pixels light bleed.... other than that didnt realize anything else.... IM returning mine for Exchange to B&H if I can ever get a hold of them and I am also supposed to be receiving a preorder from O.D. on WED.

I have 036XXX with minor light bleed at the right edge if holding it landscape. Other than that there are no other issues I have come across yet.

Just open it.. If there are any issues return it to OD for exchange... Your odds are good that you will receive a good unit...

There is little room for concern just open it. mine had stuck pixels. something that will not be hindered by low production #'s. There is very little relevance with dabirds #'s he has given...

There are videos on youtube on how to get rid of dead pixels..I haven't had the need to try it on anything
but hey if you have a dead pixel or 2 it's worth a try.

I have an OD TP with an 8xxx serial #. No issues here except GPS. Screen is perfect and wifi is great so far.

Ive tried about everything poss. to correct the problem. i could see fixing one or two pixels but ten pixels.... i dont know if i should keep it even if i was able to fix em... seems to be pretty much a Lemon...
