factory reset/hard reset

I just did a hard reset in hoping to fix my weak wifi signal. Right now I have about 1 1/2 bars, and a few times I had no connection to the
internet or even the market. If I did a factory reset will help out somewhat? Twice today time was way of , heck it even had the year
as 1970 ,lol. If I did a factory reset to hopefully fix some Wi-Fi/GPS issues will I lose my Gmail account? I know I lose of my downloads
and hopefully not my aps. What is the main differance between hard reset and factory reset? Besides the obvious?

There is the factory reset which wipes everything back to original factory condition, except firmware updates are retained. The other option is a cold boot, and you don't lose info on that. Some, including myself, have found that this helps with GPS signals. Also GPS Fix is a good program to download. It'll help.
