Not that I know of with honeycomb. Ice cream sandwich is supposed to support usb modems so it may be possible after the update.

I tried, no go. Come on ICS. I have a rooted EVO 4G using WiFi to tether. Problem for me is, it's not fast enough...for me. I work on Saturdays and like to use my SlingBox to watch football games, with the EVO 4G/Prime through WiFi, standard definition only. With the same EVO 4G and PDAnet on my laptop, High Definition. Will be looking for the USB to micro option in ICS.

The fastest I have seen is 26 Mbps down and 12 Mbps upload with my 4G MiFi. I would think that a WiFi tether should be faster (at least 54 Mbps) and the USB cable is not the issue.

I would not hold your breath that ICS is going to make this work. right now, the only USB devices other than input devices (keyboard, mouse and game pads) or mass storage, you need a custom ROM to run them. I am just thinking that the likelyhood that any one phone will get a USB driver for the Prime is pretty slim.

Yeah I agree, will focus on WiFi speed, I think I will try another ROM on my phone, idk.

For those with ICS, can you confirm that USB tether now works? I much prefer a wired tether with my Galaxy SII as it keeps it nicely juiced up.

    thx
