Official WiFi statement from Asus Taiwan

Asus is recalling shipment made before 12/3: Google Translate

P.S., apparently, the Chinese name for the "Transformer Prime Tablet", translated back into English, is the "Supreme Deformation Plate". I guess the original was just an ordinary deformation plate.

Wifi issues are then canned... This means all the Review Models, and Taiwanese Models (First batches) were affected. Hopefully Best Buy wont be getting all of those since they are already getting their shipments received at their warehouse.

Deformation plate (DP) as in the deformation it causes on your billfold upon purchase of the device! This is similar in nature to Pepsi translations of "Come alive with Pepsi" years ago. Some translations ended up saying in their native language "Pepsi brings you back from the grave" to the dismay of Pepsi and their ad agency. GM learned a lesson in translation when they tried to sell Chevy Nova in the Caribbean, nova meaning "doesn't go" in the local language.

You know how you can give your tablet a name that shows up on the lock screen?
Mine will now forever be "Supreme Deformation Plate"

The Pepsi thing is a story that is often told but there's no evidence that it actually happened.

And the Chevy Nova one is just wrong, the Nova sold well in Spanish-speaking countries.

Asus did not add a second antenna due to WIFI issues as the design already incorporated two antennae. First run devices had an assembly issue causing one of the two antennae to not be firmly connected which led to sporadic WIFI performance. Firmware updates are common, especially with new devices, so two updates in the last month is not surprising. To my knowledge no official information has been released on what fixes are included in the updates, but one of the updates did resolve GPS connectivity issues for many users.
