Thanks, Frederuco! I've been doing more research (that's all I've done the past 2 weeks...) and I know I had unlocked that TF201 with motorchopper (per the xda-developers forum entry). That's why I had root but still locked bootloader.

I need to get my hands on a microSD card (will get one today) and do what you are suggesting.

OK, dumb question time. What will I get with the microSD card solution: rooted or non-rooted? and, back to stock, right? Will I keep my app info, scores, etc.?

    I so appreciate your help!

OK, I did all the steps trying to put stock firmware on with microSD card -- twice over. Same result.

I'm still getting the dead Android with the red triangle/exclamation point upon trying to enter RCK.

Have I truly killed it!?? :-(

And now that I look back at the screen it's going on through its usual (broken) routine. Now it says the familiar "Unfortunately Launcher has stopped."

Hmnn.. reading more on the forums, would the below have anything to do with things as they stand:

from user Swipe: "Did you by any chance disable a bunch of "Asus Bloatware" - those progams that came with the Transformer? Some folks say the firmware won't load if it can't find certain stock software... a possible "Signature Mismatch" message may display when this is the problem. The procedure to install a firmware manually has been discussed many times and the written procedure should work."

I *did* unfortunately disable the bloatware when I first used the motochopper root file...

But when I get the white letters and select RCK I see a message "Booting recovery kernel image...Signature Match" so perhaps not...

I'm still stuck at the dead android with red exclamation....

Disabling stock bloatware is OK. The issue us if you uninstalled it, or if you froze it with TiBu.

When the OS loads, how long before it reboots?

Also, if the firmware restores from the microSD, root will be lost and you will have to run motochopper again.

Re: bloatware, I believe I probably uninstalled some of it .

No problem with losing root *if* I can just get the TF201 back up and running!

You asked, "How long before it reboots when the OS loads? " Am not sure which step you mean,
After pressing the volume down+power buttons and seeing the white letter, then pressing once -- it takes about 8 seconds to get to the dead android on its back.

Then it's about 75 seconds and it re-boots with the Asus logo, etc., going on to the "Launcher" error message.

THANKS so much for the hand-holding!

UPDATE: Never did figure out any way to fix this on my own. Sent in RMA to Asus, got it back working within 1 week with nothing but a packing slip. No charges (but it was out of warranty...?) of any kind, but Asus can't seem to tell me what they did to fix it. SMH

Did you unlock your boot loader before you sent it back to Asus?
