    You Google what does Root do. We will just tell you tiny bits..

    It just gives you more options that is all.

    I used NachoRoot (see XDA for instructions), and it works like a charm on my Prime.

    There's no advantage at all to rooting your device. In fact, rooting your device will void your warranty.

    Only advantage I see is to add the missing kernel modules for CIFS and network tunneling support for greater VPN accessibility. Really not much else I see. Even with busy box this is still not a full fledged Linux laptop. I am hoping google includes the tun and cifs kernel modules in ICS kernels so I don't have to root anymore. Really it is just 2 switches when they are compiling the kernel and everything works.

    No big advantage now. When I see a kernel that overclocks to 1.8 ghz or higher... I will root.
