Question Asus Prime can't mount External HDD help ??

Hello guys, i was wondering if someone could help me with my problem. I have the Transformer Prime (JB 4.1.1) and the Docking station and I am trying to connect my Asus External HDD - Zendisk AS400 to the tablet by the USB on the dock. The problem is that the Prime can't MOUNT the HDD. When i plug it in the USB the HDD's led light starts flashing and for a second on the tablet appears the message the an External USBdisk 1 is connected and then it disappears.
When i go to Settings->Storage i can see the storadge but when i press MOUNT ... nothing happens . Please help guys !!!

I tried formating the HDD to fat32 and NTFS ... no difference. I've tried everything , restarting the tablet while the HDD plugged in and still nothing..

Welcome to the forum. Did you cold boot your tf after the JB update, if not shut down/power off your device then hold volume down+power buttons at the same time, You will then see some white text on screen release both buttons & your tablet will restart. This may solve your problem...

It is recomended that you also perform a factory reset, This should clear any remnants of ICS on your system...

Note, a factory reset will erase all settings & apps you have installed!

Ok thanks for the idea, dude. I am wiling to try everything . I will try the cold boot now, because i haven't done it , but if i factory reset i will loose everythig on the tablet so for now i wont factory reset .

The result of the Cold boot : nothing has changed. Everything is the same, when i plug in the ZenDisk is still does'n mount it, even if i try to do it from the Settings.

Should i go for the factory reset? Will this fix the problem for me ? Any other ideas will be very appreciated

P.S. Forgot to mention that the ZenDIsk has USB 3.0 !

I cannot say a factory reset will solve your hdd issues although it does help with the overall stability of your tablet. (Suggestions) Does your drive work on a pc, Is it a portable device (some work others don`t) or does it require mains power. and here`s the stupid quistion, Does the drive work lol...

If not, We can rebuild it, We have the technology & so & so forth...

Yes the Drive is working perfectly on any laptop or PC. I've even storred some videos on it ... I don't think the power is the problem, because there's a Led light on the Zendisk that starts flashing when you connect it via USB port ( which i think means that the power is enough), but who konows ...

    Welcome to the forum

Is your external drive powered or does it draw from the USB port?

I'd try agin from a full power on of your TF with both devices connected to each other & connected to A/C if possible (for the HDD) as I suspect the drive isn't getting enough power.

No, my drive draws power from the USB. You mean, I'd try to connect the external HDD to the TF while connected(the TF) to the A/C with the proprietary cable? Because I already tried that, and the results were the same( nothnig has changed).

In that case, the only other thing you could try would be connecting the HDD to a powered USB hub and connect the hub to the tf201.
