Nothing can be done. Please read post $4 (my post) for the explanation to this.

What spec would you look for in the infinity or 300 to get a sense of how the jot will perform with these newer machines?

I have a jot for my prime.
You must use touchscreentune from the market to make it usable, it's a definite MUST!
I have it paired with Antipaper Notes, it works great with the zoom-in writing feature since I am VERY anal about neat handwritting.

From what I know, Touchscreentune only works on rooted tablet, so it won't help those of us who remain stock. I am a 'rooter' at heart, but I don't feel inclined yet to root my tablet and/or void my warranty. I also want to be able to sell it, if necessary, or trade it in, so I want to keep it stock.

Touchscreen tune states on Market that they support the TFP. I see no reference to rooting and it appears to work for me.

A lot of people run that software, but you have to root and adjust sensitivity. Xda has some info on this.

tf201 is right. Over at XDA, the users are rooted and there's a lot of talk about Superuser access, which can only be acquired through rooting, afaik. But seeing is believing, so despite the info on the thread and the Google Play description warning that TSTune requires root, I downloaded it and tried it anyway a couple of weeks ago but I can't remember why it wouldn't work. Today I tried it again and this time it didn't ask for root access. (The developer mentions this variability in the app description.) I was able to change the parameters but I can't tell yet if it does help or not, especially since I have been having really good success using Swype and an amCase stylus. (Hmm, just noticed screen static or whatever it's called on the screen, but I'm in power saving mode, too.) I will play around with it some more and report back, but it's probably placebo effect. Lol!

    Edited to add:
My screen went off and on turning back on, I keep getting an IOException No root permission message. I went into the app to reset the settings and there was the same message, which also appeared each time I tried to apply the settings. Then a message pops up saying Settings not applied. I'm going to assume that without SU, no changes are being written to the root software and there isn't any way to use this app without rooting.

So I've been looking for a stylus that is comfortable for handwriting on my tf300. Have been reading about the various types and have tried a couple of rubber tipped el cheapies (fine for typing on screen), a soft tipped stylus pen whose brand I can't remember (looks alot like the caseen, and I loved it but it was still too clunky for writing), and yesterday I found the Adonit Jot Mini at Staples for $22. So far I find it much smoother and more comfortable in the hand for writing, but find the screen overly sensitive to it when typing - I get alot of double letters. It's also a bit loud. No screen saver here, so I will be very careful about dirt on the silicon pad.
    Happy owner of a TF300T

I just ordered a blue Adonit Jot Pro. Let's hope it's going to work smootly as the atmel stylus seems not to be compatible with the Prime (whenever it hits the market...).
