    I see a make_ext4fs in your near future. 😁
No more hiccups in TWRP since I did that...

TWRP continues to exhibit stability issues, but so far no game-killers. On this install, Aroma installer crashed just after I set all the options and hit the install button, had to run through it all again, worked perfect second time around. But after booting the new ROM and letting it settle in for 15-20 minutes, then booting recovery to get the above Nandroid, no touchscreen. Had to force power off with the hardware button, but then rebooted with volume-down and no further problems.

Next few evenings I'll be busy setting up the new-again toy. Beats hanging out in the bars (or worse, the downtown parks)!

@davioh, too early to have exact data on your question. However, Zombi is put together and maintained just for the TFs and has an amazing team behind it. CM may well have just as good a team, although that would be hard to do, but it is developed for as wide a range of hardware as they can manage with a set of tweaks for device compatibility. There is simply no way they can possibly put in as many device-specific performance tweaks as the Zombi/Omni team put into Zombi-Pop. I am guessing that battery life will be comparable while Zombi will be way ahead on performance.
hi Kevin, I'm eager to read your impressions about the new rom compared to stock, battery life , smoothness etc. If you get a chance can you post back with an update?

Most people want me to QUIT doing that.

The stock ROM sucked, although they did finally get the (serious) battery issues straightened out. But what a mess of bloat! OMG, they had a trial version of a magazine subscription service installed as a system app where you couldn't get at it to uninstall! Zombi is an absolute joy after that. And as I've said before, I am not a fan of KitKat at all; I'd rather have Jellybean. But Lollipop is a giant leap for all mankind... Oh, all right, it's maybe not quite THAT big, but it's a great improvement over KK. I'll have more specifics in a few days.

@DB, while I hadn't planned on that right now, it occurs to me that there will never be a better time. ROM is still fresh, hardly anything installed, no accounts set up yet--what better time to wipe /data than when there's nothing on it?

A few days in, now. Zombi is shaping up nicely. For myself, nearly no issues at all. The major problem so far has been the dock SD card reader not working; one XDA member reports his not working at all, under any 5.1 ROM, but what I found is that mine is nearly useless if I stick an el cheapo card in it, but works flawlessly with a good brand-name card. The cheapest one that works well for me is a Kingston class 6.

Another XDA member reports Bluetooth headsets not working and apps crashing and taking the tablet with it. Unless I'm mistaken both these guys have done the make_ext4fs thing on /data. Speaking of which, when I did that adb shell reported success, but it was almost instantaneous. Should that not have taken many minutes? And done a full TRIM? I ask because it did not seem to cure my TWRP ills, as @Droidbound reported it did his. I haven't had it freeze up again, but it took me three tries to get a working touchscreen. I expected to lose my settings, that happens whenever /data is wiped, but the picky touchscreen is a PITA.

Anyone wanting to check out the XDA thread:

    [ROM]★[TF701 LP 5.1.1][ZOMBi-POP OMNI … | Asus Transformer TF701 | XDA Forums

Overall, however, the ROM is excellent. Everything just seems to work, and of course the hardware in this tab is much better than what I'm used to, so it's fast evin though it doesn't have f2fs support (never will, according to @sdbags; bootloader won't support it). Under CROMi-X7 I could not open my HTML file of saved bookmarks with the stock browser, I can on Zombi. I'm a fan of Apex launcher, no issues with it. No problems setting wallpaper (some Omni-base ROMs need a small file size to set wallpaper).

@davioh, you were interested in battery life. I played a point-n-click (point-n-tap?) mystery game, very high graphic content, for 3 1/2 hours and used 70% of the battery, undocked. For a performance ROM that's pretty hard to beat.

Both @sdbags and @lj50036 have posted in the XDA thread: It's a beta! Well as I've said before, a beta from this team is anyone else's final release. Unless I find some compelling reason to change it, which doesn't look likely right now, I'll be sticking with this ROM for a while.

The SD card thing is a source problem. We had that during beta testing and sbdags said the way Omni handles mounting of external storage is just plain wrong. He tried to fix it, but his first idea didn't pan out.
I can access the card after multiple insert/yank cycles. It mounts as USB device, each time with a higher number. Just reflashed beta 3 and I could access the card after it mounted as USB1018. Yes, I started at USB01. Persistence pays

Ok, ok, that was a lie. It started at USB1014 or so....

As I pointed out in the XDA thread, this seems to affect each user/tablet differently. I seem to have hit the lottery, mine works great if I use a good fast card. I'm only up to USB004 with two different cards, it reset somewhere. The guy who's mad at me can't get his to work at all, and said he had the same problem with other LP ROMs. One other XDA member can read his but not write to it. For everyone else's sake I hope we don't have to wait for LP 5.1.2 to fix it.

I cannot access it anymore either. Could during the beta test but no dice anymore. And that's with a Scandisk Ultra class 10

Beta 4 is now out, but I don't have time until the weekend at least to play with it! Unfair! No word on whether it will fix the SD card issues though. But I'll bet @droidbound is checking on that as I write...

Haven't had time yet... It's sitting in my downloads folder waiting for the flash.
I just got the TF700 all set up on RC1 again. Hate it when sbdags releases new roms for both simultaneously......
I am really looking forward to getting the dock battery icon back. I think mine is busted but hard to tell without any indicator.. It's a crying shame how Asus mangled this beautiful device with lousy components. The dock really is a cheap POS, external speaker is busted too. The 700 is holding up better with age

But the 701 will run circles around it. This may never get out of the brainstorming stage, but I am thinking of making a dock out of a data cable and some (hopefully) nice hardwood. Visualize something like a trophy base, with a slot to hold the TF, data/charge connector glued into the middle. Ugly box of electrical stuff hidden under desk, maybe a mini keyboard with built-in USB hub to go with it. Sound like a wiener?
