    Dock and power behavior

When the tablet is completly turned off it boots when I connect the dock. When the dock is connected and the tablet is turned off it boots when I connect power to charge. Is there a way to change this behavior so the tablet keeps turned off and won't boot?

That is the way it was designed to work. Without at least rooting I'm not sure there is a way around it.

On the TF700 there are dock power saving settings under Asus customized settings like disabling the wake up function when the dock is connected.
No idea if those are still there on the TF701 though....
That the tablet boots when connected to power is normal - and why not??

Most devices boot when you apply power to them, other than laptops. I have never owned a cell phone (going back 14 years) that stayed off when a charger was plugged in.

The only option you have is to plug it in and then power it off.

Personally, I only power off my tablet during aircraft takeoff and landing, but with the FAA's new rules, that may not be necessary.

If I don't turn it off the battery is completely drained overnight due to Asus e-mail app.

Tell the E-Mail app to not sync until opened or reduce the sync frequency. You can also install Auto Airplane Mode (by DON) to keep your TF from doing much when sleeping.

I have auto sync turned off. It only syncs when I press the sync button. Still the app drains my battery. I have mentioned this in an other thread already. Seems I am not the only one with this problem.

If that's the case, it could be dirty cache in the mail app. Install this app to see if it makes a difference after you run it. Clean Master
