If it's your thread your cannot hijack it. It's yours to abuse as you fit.
As far as the forum rules allow abuse, of course

I'm sure your problem is @janner43 handiwork and he'll be right along to fix it.
In 12 hours or so since he's on the wrong side of the Atlantic....

what I did there with @ in front of the username is called a "mention" and depending on the settings that user should get a notification if you do that.
Not that j' needs it. I sometimes think he reads e-v-e-r-y post, e-v-e-r-y day

You are getting WAY too excited about a calendar app! This is a family show you know...

"Not that j' needs it. I sometimes think he reads e-v-e-r-y post, e-v-e-r-y day"--Well that's getting easier to do. And I'm glad someone does, there aren't too many of us diehards left.

Well, I could tell some stories about the DateBk6 days, but as you said - it's a family show, so I leave it your imagination while I wallow in memories...

For the rest of your comment: Sad but true, especially for the Android side of things.....
Slowly but surely this feels like a Virginia coal mining town after the mines closed down, most of the population left, and we are the old farts meeting in the one bar left in what used to be downtown......

Edit: Looking at that picture... Man! I sometimes wish I'd still smoke

Well I don't. Only thing I ever got out of it was not jonesing for a smoke, and that didn't last. Oh yes, and it did manage to keep the excess money out of my bank account, can't have that building up you know. Yeah, I'm still PO'd at the tobacco companies, if you hadn't figured that out.

When I go to transformerforums.com and log in, I get this message:

Scarab1, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I don't see a way to attach a screen cap of the message here, but I have one I can send you some other way if seeing the actual error screen helps.

I've tried two different browsers on my laptop and tried from my TF701T and get the same message in all attempts.

Here I thought I was being helpful to the group and instead appear to be banned. :-(

    Thank you,

    Steve

    Sorry about that...

Thanks, janner43! Whatever you tweaked fixed it. I feel like I've been invited back to the adults' table now. :-)

I hate to say it, but it seems like Windows 10 tablets are giving Android a beating. I couldn't find any good stats in a quick Net search, at least ones that separated out tablets from smartphones. Android seems to be the top OS in smartphones at least. But just from looking at store displays around here, there seems to be more interest in Windows tablets vs. Android ones. Especially if you want something with a keyboard. Best Buy used to have a giant Samsung kiosk. Now it's gone and replaced with an even bigger Microsoft section.

Then you have the die-hard iPad fans. But for the cost of the new big iPad Pro, stylus, and keyboard, you're around the cost of a Surface Pro that's a full-blown computer.

I also think those of us willing to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty mucking around in the guts are dwindling.

Seems that people buy what their friends have or what's promoted best, use the basic features, install some apps, then buy the next new device when it comes out. And that's it.

I remember the same situation with Palm devices. A die-hard core of hackers, but such a small proportion of the overall user base.

Oh well, we can hang on for a while longer!

"I also think those of us willing to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty mucking around in the guts are dwindling." Agreed, in spades. We just want it handed to us, forget earning it. Or even learning how to use it properly. Most people claim to be good car drivers, but can't even work a clutch pedal!
